ABN Amro 2 Dutch crew member Hans Horrevoets was washed overboard in heavy weather on 18th May whilst mid Atlantic Ocean. The crew located him and pulled him back onboard, but were unable to revive him. They carried his body for 5 days until they were able to transfer him to Dutch Frigate HMLMS Van Galen, off Falmouth early this morning (22nd). At the same time ABN Amro 2 also off loaded the crew of Movistar who had to abandon ship on the 21st and were subsequently picked up by ABN Amro 2. ABN Amro 2 then went on with their remaining 9 crew to finish Leg 7, crossing the finish line in Portsmouth on 22nd May at 1908 GMT, 2008 local time, taking 6th place in Leg 7.
